Dedicated to the most stylish of them all
Tiffany’s 2018 collection is inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany’s
The big news this past week is that Tiffany & Co. unveiled a new jewelry line for Spring 2018, called Paper Flowers. At the beginning of the month, Tiffany & Co. wiped their social media clean, then started showing how some traffic lights, posts, cabs, and other random items in New York were being painted Tiffany blue, and hinted that something was coming soon. That something ended up being a promotional video starring Elle Fanning, who takes a very casual, very modern Holly Golightly breakfast at Tiffany’s and ends up revealing some pieces of the Paper Flowers collection.
Elle sings “Moon River” in the video, with A$AP Ferg joining about 20 seconds in. It’s an interesting video, and definitely meant to lure in younger, affluent shoppers than it’s meant to showcase the collection. If you were curious as to what the full line of Paper Flowers jewelry actually looked like (and what it retails for), you can go here to see earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings. All appear to be in platinum settings with diamonds, and some with pretty blue-violet tanzanite stones as well. It’s not a bad collection at all, but personally it does look like a lot of shamrocks.
While Tiffany’s released their new collection right around Audrey’s birthday, others were busy celebrating her as well. The Hollywood Reporter put together a nice little video featuring some great moments in her film career, which you can see below:
And, excitingly enough, Getty Images has a new subsite? Subsection? I’m not sure what it’s supposed to be, but it has a new section called Foto, and they’re featuring a bunch of rare, early photos of Audrey from between the years of 1950 to 1955. Some of these look to be outtakes from more well known shots, while others are just rarer publicity or paparazzi photos, like one of her in a nightclub in Paris. You can see their compilation, along with some detailed captions, by clicking here. (Bonus: if you scroll to the end, one of the suggested next pages is a spread on Audrey at her first Oscars ceremony! Those are all more well-known pictures, but it’s still a nice thing to look through.)
