(KRON) — One of the most popular shopping destinations in the East Bay continues its expansion. A handful of new businesses are coming to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, starting with one of the fastest rising athleisure brands.

Vuori opened a new store in April, marking the first opening at the outdoor mall this year. The store opened on Friday, April 11. It joins other athleisure giants: lululemon and ALO Yoga.

According to a Broadway Plaza spokesperson, eight new establishments are set to open sometime in 2025, along with an approximate time frame for when each will open.

Vuori first opened in the East Bay in 2021 when it debuted a store in Berkeley.

“We’re thrilled to welcome such an exceptional mix of new retailers and restaurants to Broadway Plaza,” Broadway Plaza General Manager Shelly Dress said in a news release. “Each addition enhances our commitment to offering an elevated, engaging experience for our guests. From fashion and fine jewelry to innovative dining and immersive brand showrooms, these new openings reflect the vibrant energy and evolving needs of the Walnut Creek community.”

Pinstripes, a bowling alley and restaurant, opened at Broadway Plaza last November.

Other establishments in Walnut Creek that are opening and have opened recently include Sweet Maple and Hilton Garden Inn. The former is a San Francisco-based brunch staple that is known for its “Millionaire’s Bacon.”

However, it isn’t all store openings happening in Walnut Creek. Luxury designer brand Louis Vuitton shut down its Broadway Plaza store earlier this year. Famed seafood restaurant, Walnut Creek Yacht Club, is closing its doors officially in May after nearly 30 years in the city.
