Amal Clooney Steps Out in Her Signature Summer Color
This past weekend, Amal Clooney attended the Worldwide Alumni Association of the American University of Beirut reception in London, giving a speech alongside her father, a former professor at the University. The human rights lawyer brought her signature sense of elegance to the event and was dressed in a show-stopping deep red velvet dress that recalled the throwback glamour of Old Hollywood movie stars. The rich burgundy color is quickly becoming a favorite for the human rights lawyer. She wore a mosaic, mirrored Tom Ford dress to host the Met Gala in May and a Giambattista Valli jumpsuit just last week to the designer’s store opening in London both in the same shade.
The hue is an unexpected choice for the warmer months, but is particularly alluring rendered in velvet against Clooney’s dark brown hair. Clooney kept accessories to a minimum, indeed the ensemble needed little more than delicate diamond drop earrings, a sleek bracelet, and pointy-toe stilettos to feel complete.
