Shoe Fashion For 2025

As we enter 2025, footwear trends will continue to reflect the blend of innovation and nostalgia that defines modern fashion. Whether you’re drawn to high-tech designs, sustainable materials, or bold statements, the footwear scene promises to be more diverse and exciting than ever before.

In 2025, expect shoes that not only look good but also feel good, whether that means embracing retro styles, futuristic tech, or sustainable practices. So, whatever your style, there’s a shoe trend this year that’s sure to match your vibe!

The biggest and best 2025 shoe trends have arrived. And besides retro court sneakers, which are still the hottest kicks on the market, the runways are offering up a fresh slate of shoes for the year ahead. (The only downside? You might be tempted to redo your entire rotation.)

Two big, easygoing undercurrents are shaping 2025’s fashion trends: boho and prep. On one side of things, bohemian staples like studded clogs, wood wedges, and animal-print boots are about to be absolutely everywhere—and they all pair well with flowy blouses and wide-leg jeans, FYI. And while the preppy pairs on our list are a little more buttoned-up, they’re also leaning into relaxation: think soft loafers, slim Mary Janes, and sporty sneakers that look great with suits and sweatpants alike.

These are the major 2025 shoe trends on our radar (and in our carts), fresh from the catwalk and ready to bring your wardrobe into a brand-new year.

Glamour’s 2025 shoe trends wish list

1. Boho clogs

For a certain subset of women—the ones who dress almost exclusively in suede, flared jeans, and gauzy blouses—clogs never left the conversation after their last heyday about a decade ago. But thanks to high-profile spring catwalk appearances at Hermés, Miu Miu, Ulla Johnson, Burberry, and Rachel Comey, they’re poised to be bigger than ever for 2025. Most of the pairs we loved were studded, with plenty of sandal silhouettes for the warmer months ahead; you can get the exact same look starting at just $60.

2. Academic Mary Janes

Mary Janes have moved fashion for season upon season now, and this spring’s take on the silhouette is leaning academic. Paired with knee-high socks and pleated skirts, these picks put a twist on the classic school uniform—and based on their runway showing, including at Bally, Sandy Liang, and Simone Rocha, they’re the ballet flats of the moment. And after popping up last season at the likes of Ferragamo, Dries Van Noten, and Tory Burch, T-bar shoes are holding strong for the months ahead, fitting neatly into this look.

3. Court sneakers

Clearly, Adidas Sambas are here to stay. Sporty, retro sneakers are still trending for the months ahead, especially pairs with slim, walking-friendly soles. Beyond walking the spring-summer runways at Loewe, Gucci, Miu Miu, Burberry, Stella McCartney, and more, court kicks are also dominating street style—they’re simply too effortless to give up. Each of these pairs offers a unique take; pay special attention to the Alohas option that’s all over Instagram and the Dries Van Noten kicks every fashion editor at Glamour is coveting.

4. Easy loafers

Traditional loafers are getting a free-spirited rebrand for 2025—just ask Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner. At Tod’s, Prada, and Bottega Veneta, designers skipped the classic penny strap for a sleeker, softer effect; at Miu Miu and Ferragamo, suede and sock-like construction telegraphed a sense of ease. Gone are the stiff pairs you could never quite break in—these are loafers you’ll want to throw on to walk around the neighborhood, not just to sit at the office. Get started with the buttery, minimalist pairs below.

Winter has a few boot trends left in store, animal print chief among them. Leopard– and snakeskin-effect boots showed at Ganni and Valentino, respectively; zebra print is popping up everywhere; and our editors have noticed a huge uptick in croc-embossed boots while walking around New York. All signs point to animals coming for our footwear, so invest in your favorite print below.

6. Wedge heels

Ever since Chemena Kamali took over as Chloé’s creative director last year, the brand has been at the forefront of the fashion conversation—and its viral wedge sandals, worn by front-row show attendees, are the perfect distillation of the brand’s boho ethos. Saint Laurent, Dries Van Noten, and Ferragamo also showed wedges of all shapes this season, proving there’s a pair for everyone. Plus, with renewed interest in wedge sneakers (especially Isabel Marant’s nostalgic pair), we only expect the heels to get more popular as the year goes on—so invest now.
