Anton’s Bio
During my sophomore year of high school, I began preparing for what would be the most pivotal time in my basketball career. Understanding the social dynamics of my life at this time, I knew that easing my way into the collegiate experience would prove to be most beneficial.
I chose to attend Santa Rosa Junior College from 2001 to 2003. I led my team to the state Final Four in 2002 and 2003 and was named team and league MVP. I was also named first team all-state California. I then immediately contributed for the University of Idaho from 2003-2005 and was named top rebounder and team captain. I went on to earn the Kathy Clark Academic Award as well as the Leadership Award.
So how do the aforementioned accolades help one coach? It’s simple, they don’t. The accolades came as a result of the adjustments I made to better myself in the game of basketball. I evolved and contoured until I learned to move with life’s current. Until I made better choices. Choosing practice instead of parties and hitting the books instead of lounging. Choosing to be the best team member in order to become the greatest team leader. It’s about choosing to learn and always in always staying hungry.
