Backpacker favourites and island paradises feature heavily in the review site’s 2023 predictions
Wondering where everyone’ll be jetting off to this year? Where’s gonna be trendy? Where’s going to be hot? Well, wonder no more. TripAdvisor has crunched the numbers to figure out which destinations will be trending the most this year.
As part of its ‘Best of the Best’ awards, TripAdvisor has analysed year-on-year growth in interest on its site in destinations around the world. According to the review site’s study, the trendiest ones are those that have seen biggest uptick in clicks over the past 12 months.

And so, according to those metrics, the hottest destination of 2023 is… Cuba! The largest island in the Caribbean is apparently having a bit of a moment. From its old-world architecture to its unparalleled nightlife scenes, Cuba is certainly worth the hype – just see our own lengthy list of all the best stuff to see and do on the island.
Next up in TripAdvisor’s list is Hoi An in Vietnam, a city renowned for its old trading port and pretty waterways, while third was tropical paradise Mauritius. Here’s the full top ten most trending destinations in 2023.
