The 2022 Academy Awards is rounding out the season with a renewed sense of red carpet magic. After a pared down awards circuit last year, the A-list is turning it out for the 94th Annual Oscar Awards, which is being held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. And seeing as it was a return to the red carpet in full force, the stars ramped up the glamour, in high octane gowns, dresses, tuxes and tulle to set the right tone for the evening. An early in the evening trend? Bold and bright looks. Tracee Ellis Ross is dressed for dopamine wearing vibrant Carolina Herrera and even sparklier bling, joining the ranks of Ariana DeBose, Marlee Matlin, Kirsten Dunst, and Rosie Perez—all wearing fire engine red. Meanwhile Best Actress nominee Jessica Chastain turned it out in a two-tone shimmering copper and lilac gown (custom Gucci)—proving that this was not the year for subtle and subdued sartorial choice.
And of course, we’re expecting some major fashion moments from Lady Gaga, who is presenting this year.
