Puffy sleeves are here to stay, baby! Or, should we say, shoulder detailing. Everyone from Prabal Gurung to Alexander McQueen and Giambattista Valli showed statement shoulders. If you want to dip your toe into the trend, try tailored blazers and pair with wide leg trousers, or look out for dresses with romantic shoulders.

Forget everything you ever believed about beige being boring; this neutral colour palette is the only one to be seen in this autumn. Best worn in multiple shades of the hue, loose tailoring is the way forward. Take the lead from designers such as Valentino, Burberry, Chloe, and Fendi and shop pieces now that you can layer when the weather gets colder.

If you only buy one accessory for next season, make it a statement bag. Whether that’s a teeny tiny bag, like the ones shown at Jacquemus, or an oversized holdall like the ones at Jil Sander, Rejina Pyo and Off-White, it should be worthy of starting a conversation. Oh, and a neutral colour palette works best.

Next season, leather will come in all forms; from a classic biker jacket, to trousers and even dresses. Plus there’ll be plenty of vegan options. To really nail the trend, look out for coloured pieces and pair with knitwear and excellent accessories, like Tod’s, Roberto Cavalli and Eudon Choi.

Forget skinny jeans – next season, we’ll all be wearing the baggiest trousers we can get our hands on. The good news is this style is flattering for most people, and so easy to wear; just pop on a pretty blouse for work, or layer with a jumper. Heels will lengthen your legs, but trainers look cool, too.

Whether you go full Black Swan or just opt for an accessory, there’s no denying there’ll be some element of feathers in your wardrobe next season. Dip your toe in the trend (literally) with a pair of shoes, or go full-blown autumn/winter with a colourful feather coat.

Next season hemlines will be a little longer, necklines a little higher and dresses more ruffled and tiered. Think country weekend meets romantic black tie: basically, if it has a pussy bow neckline, tweed material or fluffy tulle, you can make it work.
